2009 Season
Summer is fast approaching and the Harlem Repertory Theatre (HRT) is once again gearing up to produce another exciting season. Last year the HRT enjoyed great success with its critically acclaimed and sold–out productions of AIN’T MISBEHAVIN (Nominated for 5 AUDELCO Awards), TAMBOURINES TO GLORY and AS YOU LIKE IT.
Please join us every Friday and Saturday nights for THE WIZ, July 28th to September 5th. Our second production, FLAHOOLEY plays October 1 — 4 at Aaron Davis Hall in Harlem and from December 17 to January 3 at The Theatre For The New City in the East Village.
With the generous support of the Yip Harburg Foundation, The CCNY Alumni Association, The Theatre Department and the Division of Humanities and the Arts, the HRT will produce the 2009 Yip Harburg Festival in Aaron Davis Hall, October 1 — 4. The Festival will include something for everyone:
- A new one–hour version of THE WIZARD OF OZ
- A theatrical concert of the music of Ira Gershwin and Yip Harburg entitled YIP AND GERSH
- The main event of the 2009 Yip Harburg Festival will be the world premier of a new adaptation of the political musical allegory, FLAHOOLEY
Please join us at Aaron Davis Hall in the summer and at The Theatre for the New City in the winter for our fifth Harlem Repertory Theatre season.
